explore oceans

Why Explore The Oceans? A few weeks ago I didn’t know that much about the oceans’ history. I did not know such things as some information about explorers, and the technology. The explorers I didn’t know about how Vasco Nunez de Balboa and how he became governor of a small part of South America. A few years later after a trip to the border of the Pacific Ocean he went back to South America, and was beheaded and wrongly accused by their new governor. The Polynesians and how they would find land by looking in the sky even in the open ocean. They did this because they had no guidance tools. I have learned about explorers and the ocean years ago. The oceans’ waves are actually created by the moon, and tsunamis are caused by the shifting of plats in the ocean. Before someone even presented Amerigo Vespucci, I did past research on him. I remember that he discovered North America and that America was named after him. I also knew that Columbus did not discover America even though we were told when we were younger that he did. Vasco Nunez de Balboa traveled to South America.

I chose this class because I have an interest in caring for nature. I hope I could learn more about the environment than what I already know. I hope I can learn more about the ocean and how it works.
